I used to love this place, I wouldn't take my car anywhere else. But I had blinders on and just ignored the little problems. Last December I ordered custom seat covers from themāwhich costed me something like $200āand they gave me the wrong ones. When I finally got around to installing them a month later, I noticed that they were for a different type of seat. When I told them this, they said that they'd take care of it. I went in a couple of weeks later, and was basically told that I had to resolve the issue myself. The seat covers were made by a third party, and the Honda rep told me to call the company myself. My vehicle had a 100,000 mile warranty, and had quite a few problems. In five years it had over $14,000 in repairs and services. The day I got my car it already had a problem with the radio (volume knob would jump around sporadically when turned), but they wouldn't fix it because they could not reproduce the problem consistently. They reproduced the problem, just not consistently. My vehicle also had transmission problems, it would grind shifting into 2nd gear or just pop out of gear at times. At around 57,700 miles I took the car in to have this problem addressed, and was told that there was nothing wrong. I kept having the same problem. I took the vehicle in again, for the same reason, at around 61,000 miles and they finally found the problem. There was some damage with the synchros. They fixed the transmission, but it started happening again around 94,000 miles, so I brought it in for repair once again. Around this time the vehicle also started to leak oil from the engine. Between then and when the warranty expired, I took the vehicle in for oil leaks on three seperate occasions. On the last one, I called ahead and let them know that I was still covered by the warranty, but by the time I arrived I would be a few miles over. On the final visit, before my vehicle broke down, they still couldn't figure out the issue. I was told that I would need to drive the vehicle for 5,000 miles in order to perform an oil consumption test. I received a call days later and was told that they had made a mistake, and that I was only supposed to drive it 1,000 miles. That is a huge difference. However, when I reached around 1,000 miles the engine just died. I had to tow the car back to AutoNation Honda Chandler for them to hopefully replace the engine since the problems started before my warranty expired. No such luck. They are refusing to take responsibility for the work they performed, and they will not cover any more work on the vehicle since the warranty has expired. Even though all of this started before that. At first they wouldn't even tell me what caused the engine to just die like that. I had to argue with the service provider until he finally admitted that it was because there was no more oil in the engine. A problem which they worked on three times! I have been stuck with their loaner car for six months now, and I just want them to take responsibility and do the right thing. They won't help me and Honda Care won't help me, because I am missing service records for two oil changes performed elsewhere between 80,000 - 90,000 miles ago. I am tired of this and I just want them to do the right thing and fix my vehicle. I am an Iraqi War Veteran, that is displayed on my plates and an Operation Iraqi Freedom ribbon on my window. I don't want special treatment, it just makes me wonder how they treat their other customers. Edit I see from all of the horrible reviews about them that they don't actually care about their customers, so I doubt mine will do any good. Stay horrible AutoNation Honda Chandler!
